KATHMANDU, July 24: Nepal national cricket team has registered a victory against Malaysia on its second match of ICC World T20 Asia Regional Final Qualifiers in Singapore on Wednesday. Prior to this Nepal national cricket team suffered a humbling four-wicket defeat at the hands of Qatar in their opening match on Tuesday.
At the Indian Association Ground, Nepal managed to pull off the victory against Malaysia by seven wickets with six balls still remaining.

Earlier, Nepal won the toss, elected to field first and invited Malaysia for the batting. Malaysia set the target of 84 runs at the loss of seven wickets inside allotted 9 overs after rain shortened the match.
Sompal Kami picked up three wickets conceding 23 runs in two overs. Binod Regmi picked up two wickets in an over for the team. Likewise, Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC shared a wicket each while restricting Malaysia.
Gyanendra Malla set a record of the fastest half-century in T20 by smashing 51 runs off 21 balls including five fours and three sixes. Malla now has become the fastest half-century record holder among the Nepali cricket players in T20 international match.
Likewise, Binod Bhandari and Pradeep Singh Airee made 13 and 12 runs respectively while securing the victory for Nepal.
Nepal will now face Kuwait on Saturday and will play its last match against Singapore on Sunday. Nepal has to win both the matches and register better net run rate than respective opponents in order to get qualified for the ICC World T20 Qualifiers slated for October start in the United Arab Emirates.
