Guns N' Roses latest track 'Hard Skool' unveiled

The announcement was made on Instagram just before Guns N' Roses tour was about to begin "Hard Skool has arrived!! Now you may watch it online." 'Hard Skool,' formerly known as 'Jackie Chan,' is a studio recording of a previously unreleased effort from the 2008 'Chinese Democracy' period.

It's a no-holds-barred rocker with smouldering guitar licks. "But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way/Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away/Too hard school and you believed you were here to stay/ If that was true, it wouldn't matter anyhow," Axl Rose sings on the track. 'Hard Skool' is the band's second release in as many months, after the release of 'Absurd,' which was also a revamp of an unreleased song from 'Chinese Democracy.'

Rose is credited as a co-producer on the new album, with Caram Costanzo, who co-produced 'Chinese Democracy.' The album was written by seven co-writers and is just the group's second since founding members Slash and Duff McKagan returned in 2016 for the group's long-running 'Not in This Lifetime' tour. The release of the new song coincides with the commencement of the band's North American tour, which kicks off on Thursday at Columbus' Schottenstein Center.

Guns N' Roses is a Los Angeles, California-based hard rock band that was established in 1985. The band consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler when they signed to Geffen Records in 1986. Rose, Slash, McKagan, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese make up the current lineup.
