BIRGUNJ, Feb 12: After losing their eldest son during the Maoist insurgency period, Sarada Giri and his wife Parbati of Sakhuwa Parsauni Rural Municipality of Parsa had raised their granddaughter with great care. They had given her all their love and affection in the absence of her parents. However, her sudden disappearance has left them grief-stricken. 

Speaking at a press conference in Birgunj on Thursday, Sarada broke into tears while informing that his 14-year-old granddaughter Kajal has gone missing since a few months. He accused the police of neglecting their case. Kajal was only seven months old when his father Jayaram Giri was shot dead by the Maoist rebels suspecting him of being an agent of the police.

A year later, her mother disappeared.   Sarada and Parbati believe that their daughter-in-law died in the same period. 

As informed by the couple, their granddaughter has been missing since October 14. They have also accused Prem Baitha Dhobi of the same village of whisking their granddaughter away by promising her a job in the police. Despite informing the police on time, they lament that the law enforcers have been neglecting their case.

Relatives of the missing girl had also reached to the training center of Nepal Police based in Dudhauli of Sindhuli to file a complaint. Meanwhile, the police officers of Parsa have informed that they have already started investigating into the case. 

DSP Rajan Limbu of the District Police Office (DPO), Parsa said that the police are planning to take few people under custody for investigation. The DPO has also sent a letter to Baitha urging him to present himself at the office.

DSP Limbu claimed that they are taking time because the case of women and children are very sensitive and must be handled properly. He assured that he will take stern action against the alleged perpetrator if he is proven guilty.
