Govt will make necessary arrangements to cast votes from abroad: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, April 15: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that arrangements will be made to allow Nepalis abroad to cast their votes from abroad. 

Addressing the virtual program of the CPN (Maoist Center) Migration Coordination Committee on Friday night, he said that millions of migrant Nepalis will benefit from this. He also said that migrant workers should not be deprived of voting rights.

He said that the remittances sent by Nepalis abroad have boosted the reserves of foreign currency and said that the government has done a lot for the improvement of foreign employment and will do more. Prime Minister Dahal said, "The fact that the remittances received from foreign employment have reached the level of 11 months of foreign exchange reserves is itself a sign of economic improvement."

He said that the participation of migrant Nepalis in the Social Security Fund is the protection of workers. He mentioned that there was a significant improvement in the revenue by properly mobilizing all the agencies of the state and said that after he became the Prime Minister, he emphasized on advancing the coordination of public cooperatives and the private sector and mobilizing the private sector in building economic development.

Prime Minister Dahal said, "Maoist is the main force that created the constitution and brought the country to its current state." We have a challenge to create growth momentum and guarantee employment. The trouble in the economy is not now, but already. It has been improving since I came." He said that within three months, positive signs have been seen to solve the problems of Nepal's economy.

Stating that there has been a marked improvement in revenue collection in recent days, he said that the rate of interest reduction has started on his own initiative. Stating that the private sector is an initiative to solve problems, he said that the government is capable of strengthening the unity of the country.

Stating that he is soon going on a visit to the neighboring country, he expressed his commitment to resolve some issues of the Nepalese people during the visit. "To reduce the trade deficit, we will move forward with the neighboring countries on transit policy and air routes", he said.
