A cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar today took a decision to this effect. A day earlier, Chairman of Interim Council of Minister Khil Raj Regmi during his visit to the district had announced to provide the fund for the purpose. [break]
The meeting also decided to increase the annual budget of Central Natural Disaster Rescue Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs to Rs 100 million.
Likewise, the meeting decided to transfer six secretaries. According to Matrika Poudel, the press advisor to the minister for information and communications, Somlal Subedi, secretary at the Ministry of Education (MoE) has been transferred to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoEST).
The secretary at the Election Commission (EC), Narayan Gopal Malego has been transferred to the MoE. Keshav Prasad Bhattarai, secretary at the MoEST has been transferred to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
According to Poudel, Atmaram Pandey, previously the Mid-Western Regional administrator, been transferred to the Ministry of Defense (MoD). Likewise, Secretary at the Auditor General Office (AGO), Narendra Dahal, has been transferred to the EC. The Central Regional administrator, Uddav Banskota, has been transferred to the AGO.
The cabinet meeting also decided to create 3,243 new positions in the Armed Police Force.
“The new positions in the Armed Police Force is going to be created aiming at enhancing border security,” Poudel said taking to Republica Online.
According to Poudel, the cabinet meeting forwarded a draft to the Bill Committee to establish a relief fund for conflict-affected journalists. The draft was proposed by the Ministry of Information and Communication (MoIC).
The meeting also decided to promote two colonels of the Nepal Army to the post of brigadier general.
