Govt to set up asset management company to handle non-banking assets

As announced by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Biswo Nath Poudel through the monetary policy for FY 2025/26, necessary legal procedures will be completed within the upcoming fiscal year for the formation of the company.

KATHMANDU, July 11: The government is set to establish an asset management company to manage non-banking assets of banks and financial institutions.



As announced by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Biswo Nath Poudel through the monetary policy for FY 2025/26, necessary legal procedures will be completed within the upcoming fiscal year for the formation of the company.

The decision comes amid growing concerns over the accumulation of non-banking assets in the financial sector, which has started to pose operational challenges.
