KATHMANDU, April 7: Land will be provided to 11 families affected by the floods in Yangri Larke of Sindhupalchok. A land purchase agreement has been made to arrange their permanent residence.
The flood that occurred on June 15, 2021 caused a lot of damage in Yangri Larke river in the northern part of Panch Pokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality. Tasi Lama, chairman of the rural municipality, said that a land purchase agreement has been signed to build permanent housing for 11 families of the Dalit slums of Yangri affected by the flood. 179 families were affected by the flood.

"Out of these, 13 families need to rebuild their houses and the rest need to be rehabilitated", he said. Land has been purchased for 22 families so far. Five families are completing the house construction. According to Chief Administrative Officer Krishnahari Paudel, Rs 500,00 per family will be given to build houses for those affected by the flood and another Rs 300,000 will be given to those who do not have land.
"In this, the rural municipality has to share 10 percent and the municipality has to share 15 percent", he said. 550 houses were washed away in Helambu, Melamchi and Panchpokhari by the floods that occurred since June 15, 2021.
