KATHMANDU, June 20: The government has decided to suspend Executive Chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation Ubaraj Adhikari. A cabinet meeting held on Monday made a decision to this effect, cabinet sources said.
Earlier on June 8, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale had registered a proposal at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister to suspend Adhikari from the post until further notice.
Minister Ale has alleged that Adhikari had failed to bring any tangible improvement at the NAC and pushed the state-owned company to further financial trouble instead. Ale and Adhikari are not even in talking terms in recent days.
Adhikari himself went to DAO Kathmandu on Friday and submitted a request demanding security after Minister Ale threatened his life. He has also lodged a complaint at the Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu.
