KATHMANDU, March 18: The government has started issuing permits for mountain climbers in the spring season.
According to the Department of Tourism, 27 people from five expedition teams have received climbing permits till Thursday. Of the total, 11 are women.
The climbing permits have been issued for mountains Annapurna-I, Manaslu, Pangri Goldumba, Surma Sarovar and Thorong Peak till Thursday. Rs 3.9 million royalty has been collected from them.
According to the Department, six people are from South Korea and three each from America and the UK. Two people each from Norway, Macedonia, Romania and China have already taken permission.
