BUTWAL, April 13: Deputy Speaker of Lumbini Province, Krishni Tharu, has said that the government is serious toward ensuring rights of children.
Speaking in an event organized by Consortium Nepal Lumbini Province Committee in Butwal on Tuesday, Deputy Speaker Tharu maintained that since children today are the future of the country the government must chart out special plans and policies for the protection and promotion of the rights of children. “The rights of children should be ensured not just in the constitution but also in practice,” she added.
Deputy Speaker Tharu also urged all the three levels of the government to work in a collaborative manner to promote the rights of children.
More than 74 organizations currently working for the cause of children from across the country have joined Consortium Nepal, according to the President of Consortium Nepal Kiran Thapa.
