Govt’s common minimum program to be announced today

KATHMANDU, Sept 18: The government is set to announce its common minimum program (CMP) today  (Wednesday).


During a National Education Day event held in Mulpani, Kathmandu, on Wednesday, Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, also a member of the task force drafting the CMP, stated that the document will be made public today.

"This evening, we will present the common minimum program of the government," he said.


He also mentioned that the CMP includes plans to pass the Education Bill as soon as possible, with preparations underway to advance the bill at the start of the winter session of parliament.


On September 8, the government formed a four-member task force to draft the CMP. The task force includes General Secretary Gagan Thapa and Spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat from the NC and Deputy General Secretaries Pradeep Gyawali and Bishnu Rimal from the CPN-UML.
