KATHMANDU, Jan 4: The government has put off the plan to administer a third dose of vaccine to patients of six different types of disease and people above 60 years of age.

As the government believes that it is important to administer complete dose of vaccine to all the citizens of the country, the administration of additional dose of vaccine has been cancelled for now.

The Ministry of Health and Population has said that they will provide the information next month regarding the additional dose after completing the discussion on technical aspects and preparing proper plans.

On January 3, government had published a statement stating that the third dose of vaccine will be provided to the people who have low immunity power to fight against serious diseases like COVID-19, active cancer patients, those who have undergone kidney transplant, people suffering from HIV/AID as well as people receiving immunosuppressive medicines and those above 60 years of age earlier receiving Sinopherm's Verocell vaccines.
