Govt prioritizes clean rivers and streams in Kathmandu valley: Minister Singh

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh said the government is actively working to clean the rivers and streams of the Kathmandu Valley.

KATHMANDU, May 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh said the government is actively working to clean the rivers and streams of the Kathmandu Valley.


He emphasized that his top priority is to stop the discharge of sewage into rivers such as the Bagmati, Bishnumati, and Rudramati.

Inaugurating a water purification system for a deep boring project organized by the Baneshwar Height Drinking Water Consumers Committee today, Singh asserted that sewage must not mix with rivers.


Highlighting ongoing efforts to clean the Bagmati, Minister Singh noted that the Ministry of Urban Development has already deployed technical experts and manpower. He also urged citizens to monitor water supply projects across the country to help ensure their timely completion.
