Govt offices in Taplejung shut in protest

TAPLEJUNG, July 13: All government offices including the district headquarters of Taplejung district remained closed on Monday due to the strike called in protest of the attack on Chief District Officer Ram Bahadur Kurumbang.



Issuing separate press releases, the employees associations, Indigenous and Nationalities Federation and Samyukta Limbuwan Morhca this morning have condemned the attack and called for a two-day strike.



Ganga Chundal of Change- 3 attacked Kurumbang and verbally abused him while he was on the way to attend a programme related to the human rights on Sunday afternoon. It is said the accused is under the police control.
