Govt in final stages of preparations to announce election date: State Minister Jabegu

PAANCHTHAR, Jan 27: State Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Sri Prasad Jabegu, today said the government is in the final stages of preparations to announce the local level election date. 

Speaking to the National News Agency (RSS) this morning at Phiddim of Paanchthar, State Minister Jabegu said the election date would be announced within 15 days at the most. 

Stating that the constitution implementation process would kick off with the local level elections, Jabegu made it clear the government would not back off from election now. 

He also noted the necessity for agreement among the governing and the opposition parties and said discussions and dialogues were being held for the same. 

The State Minister said the subject of provincial border demarcation among the four issues dogging the constitution amendment should be settled through formation of a federal commission. 

The political rights being raised by various classes and communities still need to be secured, Jabegu mentioned and stressed on need for moving forward together on a path of securing the remaining rights and country's prosperity. 

State Minister Jabegu, who arrived for consultation on Constituency Infrastructure Development Program (CIDP) in his home district of Paanchthar, also took stock of the district's security scenario, development works and work execution status in the government offices. RSS
