The government has already disbursed Rs 668.7 million to provide allowances to doctors, health workers, staffers, and others working during the difficult time, said the ministry in the statement.

The direction of the ministry comes after doctors, health workers, and other staffers at the Bir Hospital intensified their protest programs demanding risk allowance from the hospital management.

At least eight trade unions of doctors, health workers, and staffers of the hospital are protesting for the last one month demanding that the government provide risk allowance to them for working during the difficult time.

As the agitating groups failed to reach an agreement with the hospital administration, they hung a black banner in the hospital obstructing the entry of senior officials of NAMS and Bir Hospital. They had also formed a struggle committee to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
