Fresh Wave of COVID-19 Pandemic

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has decided to implement the suggestion of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMC) to close the schools till January 29.
A meeting held at the education ministry on Monday decided to implement the recommendation made by the CCMC.
Deepak Sharma, spokesperson for MoEST, said that the ministry would issue a notice to close all the primary and secondary schools across the country till January 29. He also said that the schools should continue online classes as per the Learning Facilitation Directive 2077 (2020) even during the period.
A meeting of the CCMC held on Sunday had recommended to the ministry to close the schools till January 29, saying that the risk of the COVID-19 infection had increased. The CCMC had asked MoEST to ensure the implementation of this rule.
