KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The government has decided to add three more positions of Additional Inspector General (AIG) in Nepal Police.
A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday took a decision to this effect, according to sources.
DIGs Ghanshyam Aryal, Prakash Jung Karki, Basanta Kumar Panta, Ishwar Babu Karki, Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Basanta Kumar Lama, Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk, Uttam Raj Subedi and Arun Kumari BC, among others, are vying for promotion to the post of AIG.
DIGs Panta, Karki, Singh, Dhanuk and Subedi have long been lobbying with power centers for their promotion. Pant and Karki are the batchmates of incumbent IGP Shailesh Thapa.
