Govt can't bypass UML and RPP-N: Thapa

HETAUDA, Aug 13: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal chairman Kamal Thapa has said the governing parties cannot amend the constitution for changing the borders of provinces by neglecting the CPN (UML) and his party.

Addressing the party cadres' meet in Hetauda of Makawanpur district, the party chairman and former Deputy Prime Minister Thapa said that the country will face constitutional and political vacuum if the three-level elections were not held until January 2018 and it will result the peril in nationality and democracy.

He shared that the country could not achieve economic prosperity saying the political instability was the main cause for the same. Leader Thapa added that 24 governments were formed and displaced during the last 26 years and asked how the development could be achieved in such scenario.

He urged all political parties to join hands for the development and prosperity of the nation as it was the need of the hour.

In a separate context, he recalled that he had convinced the Indian Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister that there was no worry for India while Nepal establishing transit link with China.

On the occasion, party central member duo Deepak Singh and Madhu Adhikari had stressed on holding the election of the local bodies to make it effective. RSS
