Govt recalls CDO from Saptari district

KATHMANDU, March 7: The Home Ministry has called back the Chief District Officer and security chiefs from Saptarai district.

A meeting of the Home Ministry on Tuesday decided to call back CDO Uddhav Prasad Timsina, SP Dibesh Lohani of Nepal Police and APF SP Jaya Bahadur Khadka after three UDMF cadres were killed in the police action in the district yesterday.

Earlier, Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi held a meeting with the security chiefs to seek information about the Saptari incident. In the meeting held at the Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal, Nidhi also directed the security chiefs to sort out the Saptari issue without using force, said a source at the Home Ministry.

Similarly, DSP Dan Bahadur Khadka has also been called back.

Three UDMF cadres were killed in a police action after the former attacked the mass gathering organized by the CPN-UML as part of Mechi-Mahakali campaign in Saptari district yesterday.
