Govt blacklists seven construction firms and suppliers for breaching contracts

KATHMANDU, May 11: The government has blacklisted seven construction companies and suppliers for failing to complete the awarded construction projects as per the agreements with government bodies.

KATHMANDU, May 11: The government has blacklisted seven construction companies and suppliers for failing to complete the awarded construction projects as per the agreements with government bodies.


According to the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO), the errant contractors have been blacklisted for the next one to three years. The joint venture of Asian Leather Industries and Modern Shoes and the joint venture of HS Infratech and Pacific Builders Pvt Ltd have been blacklisted for the next three years.

Similarly, Atreya Nirman Sewa Pvt Ltd and Millenium Sankermali JV have been slapped with the blacklist for the next two years. GY Construction, Goldfish Engineering and Construction and Shrestha Nirman Sewa have been blacklisted for the next one year.  


According to the PPMO, the decisions were made as per Section 65 of the Public Procurement Act, 2007. The blacklisted companies will not be allowed to participate in the purchase and construction services called by the government for the prescribed time period.
