KATHMANDU, April 27: The government has restricted the use of the Tribhuvan International Airport as a transit to fly to other countries. The new rule will come into effect from Wednesday.

Those foreign nationals visiting Nepal to fly to other countries have been restricted to use TIA as a transit point, according to the Department of Immigration.

In view of containing the further spread of COVID-19, the TIA has barred foreign nationals from using the airport as a transit point to fly to third countries from Wednesday midnight.

However, the department has made it clear that no changes have been made for those coming and going abroad making the TIA the final destination.
