KATHMANDU, May 30: Government has announced a public holiday on June 6 to observe the Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest festival of the Muslim community.
Speaking at a program to inform the cabinet decision on Thursday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology and government spokesperson Gokul Baskota informed the government decision to give public holiday on the occasion of Eid.
Earlier, a delegation from the Commission had called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and submitted a memorandum regarding the public holidays on major Islamic festivals.
Likewise, the government has decided to release Member Secretary of Lumbini Development Fund, Bishnu Prasad Poudel from the service.
