Government vehicle torched in Kapilvastu

KAPILVASTU, August 11: An unidentified group set fire on government vehicle which was used by the chief of rural municipality in Kapilvastu last night at 10 pm.

KAPILVASTU, August 11: An unidentified group torched a government vehicle belonging to the chief of Mayadevi rural municipality in Kapilvastu last night at 10 pm.  


The Scorpio (Lu 1 Jha 400) belonging to the chief of the rural municipality Bajrangi Prasad Chaudhary was torched when it was being parked outside his home near the Buddha Jyoti Boarding school.

Chaudhary said that he noticed that his vehicle was torched little later. "By the time the police and firefighters reached the spot, the vehicle was totally destroyed due to the fire," he said.


Police and firefighters brought the fire under their control. Chief Chaudhary said that he had no idea about those involved in the incident.


The incident took place at a time when Chand-led Nepal Communist Party has announced prohibiting the government vehicles from plying the roads for the past one month.


Superintendent of Police Dip Shamsher Jabara said that the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
