KATHMANDU, June 13: Government has suspended the decision of increment in public transportation fare.

The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) earlier in the day had decided to increase the transportation fare by 12 percent. However, the department decided to step back from the decision with few hours citing that it needs more time for discussion before making any decision.

According to a statement issued by information officer Tirtha Raj Khanal on Thursday evening, the decision has been suspended until further decision.

Similarly, the department has suspended the decisions of prohibiting cargo transport within ring road and inside Bhaktapur and Kirtipur municipalities.

Likewise, the department has also withdrawn the decision of operating public transportation in night.
