KATHMANDU, Oct 14: The government offices that remained closed during the Bada Dashain festival resumed service from today onwards.

The presence of the employees at the government and private offices has been scarce as it is a Friday. The presence of employees is thin as it is the first day after the Dashain holidays, Home Ministry's Spokesperson, Yadav Prasad Koirala, told the National News Agency (RSS).

Koirala added that it will take a few days to normalize with many employees and service recipients still arriving back from their home districts whereas Saturday is the Dashain Purnima (Kojagrat Purnima) and a public holiday.

The public waiting for service have breathed a sigh of relief after the government offices opened after a six-day Dashain holiday. The Kathmandu Valley, which took on a deserted look, is returning back to its old hustle and bustle urbane lifestyle.

Around a 100,000 travellers have been entering the valley on a daily basis from the day of Vijaya Dashami, according to the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs.

Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) said the vehicular movement within the valley is normal. RSS
