KATHMANDU, July 7: Golden Gate and Whitefield College on Sunday advanced into the final of The British College Cup Football Tournament being held in the capital. Golden Gate registered a thumping 7-2 win over St Xavier´s in the semifinal played at the Buddhi Bikas grounds in Lagankhel on Sunday, while Whitefield toiled hard to defeat Softwarica 1-0 in another semifinal played at the same venue. Kamal Thapa and Sajan Magar both scored a brace for Golden Gate while Kiran Sunuwar, Sangam Thapa and Manish Karki were also on the scoresheet. George Prince Karki and Safir Rajkarnikar netted one each for St Xavier´s. In another match, Bibhushan Karkri scored the decisive goal on the half-hour mark to give Whitefield a 1-0 win over Softwarica. The final will be played on Monday at the same venue.
