KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The Government Doctors' Organization of Nepal (GODAN) has supported Prof Dr Govinda KC, who is on a fast-onto-death for the past 18 days, demanding reforms in medical sector.
KC's one of recent demands is the resignation of Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and newly appointed dean of the Institute of Medicine.
A statement issued by GODAN general secretary Dr Bishnurath Giri has said it has showed solidarity with Dr KC's cause.
It has also given a 24-hour ultimatum to the government to end the strike of Dr KC. "Or health services in government health institutions will be halted," the press release warned.
It also appealed to all people and its members to help in this critical condition by participating actively in struggle programs to be organized by GODAN to save the life of Dr KC in case its demands go unheard.
So far the talks team formed under the coordination of Education Secretary Shanta Bahadur Shrestha to hear demands of Dr KC held talks with Dr KC four times without any fruitful results. RSS
