Everyone is well aware of the threats of climate change. It is a serious issue continuously increasing because of the global increase in the temperature of the earth because of our daily activities, or global warming. The industrial revolution throughout the world is responsible for the global rise in temperature. Various activities heat up the earth which ultimately rises its temperature.
Hot gases released into the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane are the main causes. Such greenhouse gases, collected in the atmosphere, trap heat from our surroundings and the sun. The rise in heat causes more water from the earth to evaporate into the atmosphere, and the water vapor again absorbs heat and makes the atmosphere of the earth warmer.
Why is Climate Finance a Focus Area for Nepal?
Global warming has changed the rainfall pattern, season durations, and led to the rise in sea level; It affects our planet’s atmosphere. Because of the increasing temperature of the environment, the arctic glaciers start melting and create lots of water which increases the sea level. It creates problems in the lifecycle of plants, and animals, and also causes acid rain. So, global warming is a big threat to the existence of life on the earth in the future.
It cannot be solved by the effort of only one country. It needs the global effort to reduce its effects. We should change our habits positively in order to reduce waste by using reusable products. We should recycle paper, newspaper, aluminum cans etc. We should reduce the use of electricity. We should try to walk, instead of using a bike, car or other means of transport. We use less energy and use non-polluting sources such as wind, water, solar power etc. Planting more trees is another alternative because trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.
