DANG, Jan 7: A total budget of Rs 10 million has been allocated as ‘travel expenses for the current fiscal year by the Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City office. Despite the allocation of the budget for ‘travel’, the sub-metropolis has not introduced any plans or any reason for the need for such a huge sum.

The allocation of such a huge sum of money for ‘travel’ expenses has raised questions on the administration’s decision. As much as Rs 7 million has been allocated under the ‘travel expenses’ by the sub-metropolis. In the first quarter, Rs 1.4 million will be used as per the decisions reached to use the expenses in three tiers. Similarly, RS 2.8 million will be used in the second and third quarters respectively as per the plans to use the allocated budget.

Meanwhile, the sub-metropolis has also allocated another Rs 2.5 million under the ‘travel expenses’ for VIPs and members of the House of Representatives. Similarly, an additional budget has also been allocated for travel expenses. The total budget allocated for ‘travel’ has crossed over Rs 10 million for the current fiscal year.
