KATHMANDU, July 27: Bibeksheel Nepali Party has demonstrated with banners and pamphlets shouting slogan ‘Get well soon Lokman’ in front of Bhatbhateni in the capital on Wednesday.

The demonstration has been staged as a symbolic protest after Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki did not attend the Good Governance and Monitoring Committee (GGMC) meeting which was scheduled for Tuesday at Singha Durbar, citing health problems.

Bibeksheel Nepali Party has demonstrated with banners and pamphlets shouting slogan ‘Get well soon Lokman’ in front of Bhatbhateni in the capital on Wednesday.

In a letter to the committee, Karki had said that he would not be able to attend the meeting due to throat infection and doctors have advised him not to speak for a week. He had further stated that he was taking antibiotics.

The GGMC had invited Karki and other commissioners to discuss accusations that the CIAA had interfered in Kathmandu University's MD/MS entrance examination against the principle of academic jurisdiction by holding the examinations on their own.
