Know MoreDHARAN, Jan 10: Rangabhumi Academy, Dharan organized a press meet on Sunday to announce that the academy will present a drama ‘Ingghak’ from January 23 to 30 at the Rastriya Sabhagriha in Dharan-8.
The event aims at promoting drama culture among Dharan residents and giving the local aspiring artists a platform for progress, said President of Rangabhumi Academy, Bishnu Moktan.
‘Ingghak’ means message in Limbu language. According to Moktan, the drama will be presented for six days to nurture the young generation of drama enthusiasts. ‘Ingghak’ depicts the society and prevalent cultural malpractices, among other issues.
“The country has seen so many changes, but still many Nepalis believe in superstition and discrimination. These social as well as cultural malpractices are thriving due to the lack of education. With the drama, we hope to revive the drama culture of Dharan which used to be vibrant during the 80s,” added Moktan, who has penned and directed the play.
