KANCHANPUR, May 15: Fire broke out at four different locations from electric short circuits triggered by gale – speed winds in Kanchanpur. 



The fire inflicted property losses valued at Rs 700,000 killing scores of farm animals. According to District Police Office, Kanchanpur's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Gyan Bahadur Seti, four goats and 20 local chickens were killed when a fire broke out at a barn on Sunday owned by Shukra Tamang of Balbhadrabasti. 



In another incident, 400 chickens were charred to death when electric short circuit triggered a blaze in a chicken farm belonging to one Prem Rana of Beldandi rural municipality – 2. 



Two calves were killed when a fire broke out at a cowshed belonging to Dhana Kunwar of Beldandi on the same day. Two goats and a buffalo were killed when fire spread through Ganga Bohara's cowshed at Laljhadi rural municipality – 4, police said. 



The gale-force winds swept away roofs in schools and houses at dozens of locations and caused damages to crops. RSS
