KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa and party leader Dr Shekhar Koirala held talks on Sunday, focusing on the party’s recent internal dispute and the need to maintain unity.
During the meeting, Koirala said the country’s democracy, national interests and overall political situation were facing growing challenges, and that the Nepali Congress could not move forward while divided. He said he was prepared to make necessary sacrifices to unite the party.

President Thapa also expressed his commitment to maintaining unity within the Nepali Congress. He said he was actively working to resolve the party’s internal problems and further strengthen unity.
The two leaders also discussed the damage caused by the devastating floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading and the situation in the aftermath of the disaster.
Recent meetings among senior Nepali Congress leaders have been viewed as efforts to resolve internal disputes and strengthen unity within the party.
