KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Shova Gyawali, President of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN), held a meeting with Pradeep Tiwari, Mayor of Maribyrnong Municipality, Australia, during her visit to Melbourne.
The meeting primarily focused on the success of the recently concluded ‘Made in Nepal Expo 2024’ in Australia. The event showcased Nepali handicrafts, culture, and craftsmanship, drawing significant attention from both the Nepali community in Melbourne and foreign attendees.

Mayor Tiwari, who hosted President Gyawali for a lunch meeting, praised the expo for its role in promoting Nepali products globally. “Your efforts have brought the community here closer to Nepal,” said Tiwari. “Such exhibitions increase the global potential of Nepali products.”
President Gyawali shared plans to organize larger events in Australia in the future. In response, Mayor Tiwari assured full support from Melbourne Municipality, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between Nepali entrepreneurs and the international market.
“This meeting has opened new possibilities to connect Nepali entrepreneurs with the global market,” said President Gyawali. “We are further inspired by the support of local leadership.”
FWEAN expressed optimism about the meeting, noting that it had created a positive perception of Nepal and paved the way for advancing Nepali products on the international stage.
