KATHMANDU, Jan 15: The First National Level Business Plan Competition – Uniglobe Idea 2018, organized by Uniglobe Center for Entrepreneurship, concluded on Saturday.
According to the press statement released by Uniglobe College, out of 27 different teams, team Furfection of SOMTU won Uniglobe Idea 2018. The team comprising Neha Bista, Kunjika Sainju and Kushum Kshetri also won a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while team Happiness Box, including Bintika Aryal, Kiran Jindal, and Priya Dhungel from KIST College became the first runners-up and won a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Similarly, team Saathi of SOMTU, including Pratistha Acharya and Rista Shrestha became the second runners-up and won a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
Furfection had designed a business plan about a dog grooming company that will be located in Shankhamul, Kathmandu. The company will carry out dog grooming and training services, according to the press statement.

Likewise, Happiness Box had designed a business plan about a start-up period pampering subscription box. This subscription box expects to catch up with the interests and needs of working women as well as female students. Similarly, Saathi is a complete household service provider.
Addressing the program, Dr Pukar Malla, executive director of Daayitwa and also the chief guest of the closing ceremony, congratulated all the winners as well as participants and highlighted on the need of entrepreneurship as well as collaboration of urban youth with rural enterprises.
Similarly, special guest of the program Sohan Babu Khatri, founder/CEO of Three H Management said, “Entrepreneurs are the ones who take risk with innovative ways. Competitions like these will help flourish them.” Meanwhile, Dr Nar Bahadur Bista congratulated the team of Uniglobe Center for Entrepreneurship on successfully organizing the event that marks entrepreneurship growth in the country, read the press statement.
Founder of Business Brianz, Prajwal Gadtaula Nanda; Head of Yunus Center at Kings College, Kishor Mandal; RM at Sanima Bank, Roshan Wagle; and Co-founder as well as Chief of Operation at Media Arch Inc Deepak Thapa had evaluated all the business plans, ideas and presentations.
The program was supported by Biraj Paints as title sponsor, Anterprerena as knowledge partner, Guras Insurance as insurance partner, Media Arch Inc as social media partner, Creatu as IT partner, Professional Consultancy as consultancy partner and Edmark College and Times College as academic partner. The program was also supported by Global College of Management.
All together 27 teams participated in the program from 17 different colleges of the country. Ten different teams were selected as finalists on the basis of their business ideas. For the top 10 team, boot camp focusing on different aspects of business plan was organized by the experts.
