KATHMANDU, March 25: The Ministry of Finance is managing funds necessary for the reconstruction of school buildings that were destroyed in the Jajarkot earthquake.


The government is preparing to transfer funds from the President Educational Reform Program to rebuild the school buildings.

Accordingly, Finance Minister Barshman Pun and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sumana Shresth agreed to spend the budget of the President Educational Reform Program on the reconstruction of school buildings, according to Finance Minister Pun's secretariat.


It may be noted that more than 700 school buildings in Jajarkot, Rukum West, Bajhang and other neighboring districts were damaged in the Jajarkot earthquake. The earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale with its epicenter at Lamidanda of Barekot Rural Municipality-1 of Jajarkot took place on November 3, 2023.
