BHAKTAPUR, July 11: Inland Revenue Office (IRD), Bhaktapur has raided Kathmandu Fun Valley Company at Palanshe, Bhaktapur following a complaint that the company had been evading the tax for a long time.
The IRD officials said that the company had produced fake bills to evade taxes. Head of the revenue office, Surya Prasad Pokhrel said that the documents of the company were seized for further investigation.
Fun valley had been issuing bills under the name of “Water World Traders Pvt. Ltd” to evade taxes. Bills were also partly issued under Fun Valley’s name.
Lakshman Giri, the spokesperson at the Fun Valley, said that the documents were seized by the revenue office. However, he denied allegations of tax evasion.
Students visiting the fun park were issued duplicate bills under the registration of Water World. By doing so, Fun Valley evaded taxes worth hundreds of thousand rupees.
The locals also accused the park of using polluted water on its premises.
The IRD's move comes following complaints from the local residents.
