Fugitive who transferred ownership of govt land to his name held after 5 years

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Police on Monday arrested a fugitive involved in transferring the ownership of the government land by forging land certificates after five years.

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Monday arrested a fugitive involved in transferring the ownership of the government land to his name by forging land certificates.


The arrested has been identified as Krishna Bahadur Shrestha.


Shrestha had been absconding after the court sentenced him to five years in jail along with a fine of Rs 4 million five years ago.

Shrestha had been absconding since.


Shrestha had transferred the ownership of 11 ropanis and seven anas of land located in Baluwa VDC in Kathmandu to his name.


According to CIB, Shrestha had transferred the three ropanis and three anas of land with plot number 52 and eight ropanis of land with plot number 106 located in Baluwa VDC-8 to his name with the assistance of Land Revenue Office staffer.
