JUMLA, Jan 31: District Police Office, Jumla has arrested a fugitive accused of polygamy.
According to DSP Narendra Chand, Lakshmi Bista, who was absconding for months, was taken into custody at around 1.30 pm on Monday.
Chand said that he was arrested by the police in plain clothes from Chandannath Municipality-1 in Jumla. The arrest was made by a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Kul Bahadur Rokaya.
He was sentenced to 10 months and 28 days prison and fined Rs 10,900 by the District Court, Jumla on February 24, 2022.
