Pyuthan, Feb 19 : Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, has stressed on holding the election of the Free Students Union within April 13.
At a press meet organised by Pyuthan chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists at Nayabazaar today, Minister Pokharel said that the government has been involved to improve academic schedule for new education year, adding that it was necessary to move ahead taking the upcoming year as the year of educational reform by holding FSU election within this year.

Saying some acts have already been formulated and some are in this process, he said it was the common responsibility of the federal, provincial and local governments for the development of education sector.
He further said that the government was in preparation to form High-Level Education Commission under chairmanship of the Prime Minister for reform in education sector as there was commercialization in education system after the movement of 2046/47 BS in the country.
The Education Minister said the ministry has been engaged in formulating socialism-oriented education policy to link education with labour, labour with skill, skill with production and production with prosperity. RSS
