KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Police arrested a 60-year-old French national on the charge of paedophilia from Pokhara on Tuesday.
The arrestee has been identified as Henri Nougaret. He was caught-red handed while he was found molesting under-age three Nepali minors at Birauta Powerhouse Fushrekhola in Pokhara Metropolitan City-7, according to Nepal Police headquarters.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police detained the French national. Police also rescued the three minors who were found sexually abused by Nougaret.
Although the French old man is a computer engineer by profession, he had been staying in Nepal on "non-tourist visa". The French national has been kept in police custody for further investigation. He will be charged with sexually abusing three children below 16 years of age, the Nepal Police headquarters said in a press statement.
