Fourth Nepal-Bangladesh Youth Conference begins in Kathmandu today

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The fourth Nepal-Bangladesh Youth Conference is set to kick off in the capital on Saturday. The event was earlier deferred due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Sustainable development goals (SDGs), climate change and mitigating measures, participation of youths in development activities and entrepreneurial promotion are among the major agenda for discussion in the event, according to a representative of the organizing body Abhinav Chaudhary.

The Youth Development Centre and South Asia Partnership are organizing the event in cooperation with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu, Nepal Tourism Board and the National Youth Council.

The role of youths in the promotion of trade between Nepal and Bangladesh will be discussed in detail in the conference. The event will also feature performances on folk cultures of both the countries.

Similarly, expansion of bilateral relations and possible cooperation for public health in post-COVID-19 scenario are other issues of discussion in the conference.

Earlier, the first and third conferences were held in Kathmandu and Itahari, respectively. The fifth conference would be held in Bangladesh.

A total of 65 youths including 25 from Bangladesh are participating in the event.
