Four women killed as swollen river sweeps away a vehicle

DANG, Sept 2: Four people have been killed when a river swept away a vehicle in Dang district. According to the District Police Office, four women were killed when their vehicle was swept away by the Sisne River on the Ghorahi-Lamahi road section.

The vehicle with the number plate (Province 3-01-024 Cha 4440) was heading towards Ghorahi from Nepalgunj last night. The deceased have been identified as Ritamaya Magar of Ghorahi-13, Sushila Shrestha, Radha Kunwar, resident of Ghorahi-14 and Bimala KC, according to DSP Mukunda Rijal of the DPO, Dang.

They all drove together. The bodies of two persons were recovered on the same night while the bodies of two persons who went missing were found this morning, according to police. The Sisne River was flooded last night due to rains. The bridge under construction on the river is not in good condition.
