Four police constables held with Rs 100,000 bribe

KATHMANDU, July 13: Police constables Devendra Balayar, Akash Khanal, Niraj Bhandari and Hitler Saud were held with bribe on Friday in the capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of authorities from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority(CIAA) based in Tangal arrested the police constables with Rs 100,000 bribe in Ward-10 of Tokha Municipality.

The police constable Hitler Saud belongs to Maharajgunj-based Battalion-2 of Nepal Police whereas the rest belong to Metropolitan Traffic Police Circle based in Bus Park.

The CIAA is conducting an investigation into their case, informed Pradeep Kumar Koirala, the spokesperson at the CIAA.
