LALITPUR, Dec 17: The Ganeshman Singh Foundation here today honored four freedom fighters for their notable contributions for the establishment of democracy in the country.
Marshal Julum Shakya, Omkar Prasad Shrestha, Shyam Lal Shrestha and Shiva Gopal Risal were feted at a program organized by the Foundation on the 101st birth anniversary of leader Ganeshman Singh.
Honoring the freedom fighters, Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister, Prakashman Singh, said that the responsibility to safeguard the new constitution had fallen on the shoulder of his party.
Singh also spoke of the need for his party to take any bold decisions for the protection of the new national statue promulgated during the NC-led government in September 20 last year.
Lauding the struggle and contribution of late Ganeshman Singh for the establishment of democracy, the honored freedom fighters, including Marshal Julum and Omkar, said that Singh's fight for freedom was exemplary. RSS
