BAJHANG/TIKAPUR, Oct 10: At least four people were killed in two separate accidents in Bajhang and Kailali districts on Tuesday.


Two persons were killed while 12 others sustained injuries when a jeep met with an accident in Bugal Municipality-5 of Bajhang district on Tuesday morning.


The ill-fated jeep (Se 1 Ja 626) was heading toward Bijgada from Bagthala in the district when the accident occurred. The accident took place at around 7:35 am. The two passengers had died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Dhan Bahadur Bohora, 56, of Ghodaghodi Municipality-9, Kailali, and Bishnu Devi Bohara, 65, of Betkot Municipality-5, Kanchanpur, informed Janak Bahadur Dhami, inspector of Area Police Office (APO), Bungal.


The passengers were on their way to Bugal, their ancestral place, for Kulpuja [clan deity worship ahead of the Dashain festival.


The accident occurred due to brake failure, according to police. Among the injured, the condition of four passengers is reportedly critical. All of them are undergoing treatment at Primary Health Center at Deura.


The driver of the bus Rana Bahadur Khati, 42, and the driver’s assistant Sunil Khati of Kedar Siu Rural Municipality too have sustained injuries in the accident.


Likewise, two people were killed and one injured in a tractor trailer accident at Bardagoriya Rural Municipality on Tuesday. The tractor trailer was returning with a load of stones when the accident occurred. The deceased have been identified as Dagu Chaudhari and Suraj Kathariya of the same rural municipality. The injured, Bhim Kathariya, is being treated at Bardagoriya Hospital.
