Four banda enforcers held from Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 22: Four banda enforcers were held from various places of Bhaktapur for forcing the market to shut.

The arrested protesters are leaders of workers unions affiliated with CPN (Maoist) led by Netra Bikram Chand. They include Yubraj Acharya, Bikram Acharya, Kushal Bogati and Chitra Kamal Oli.

Yubraj is central member of the Revolutionary Workers' Union while Bikram district chairman.

Likewise, Bogati is Bhaktapur district chairman and Oli is Bhaktapur district secretary of CPN (Maoist) aligned Akhil (Revolutionary).

A Kathmandu valley banda called by Chand-led CPN (Maoist) did not have much effect as vehicles are plying the road and educational institutions and the market remain open.

Meanwhile, a commoner was injured when the demonstrators pelted stones at and smashed a vehicle, Ba 3 Kha 2465, at Radhe Radhe in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-13.

The injured identified as Rajesh Majhi, who is living in Sallaghari in Bhaktapur, was receiving treatment at Nagarik Hospital, police said.

The agitators also smashed a car, Ba 7 Cha 2150, at the same location. RSS
