MORANG, Dec 20: The police have arrested four people on the charge of taking two 14-year-old girls to a hotel and raping them. The main accused in the incident are Sachin Timsina, 20, of Sundarharaicha-4 and Pratap Tamang, 21, of Sundarharaicha-6. Similarly, Benju Chaudhary, 20, of Sundarharaicha-5 and Padam Karki, 20, of Sundarharaicha-6 have been arrested on the charge of aiding and abetting the incident. Morang Police Spokesperson DSP Deepak Shrestha said that the judicial custody of the four arrested persons has been extended for investigation.
The incident came to light on Saturday after the girls, who were studying in grades 8 and 9, did not return home on Friday, December 16. On Friday, both the girls went to school, but when they found out that the school was closed, they went to watch a volleyball match at Gaushala in Sundarharaicha. Sachin Timsina and Pratap Tamang, who met at the venue of the volleyball event, coaxed the underage girls into going to Hotel Darbar Inn Restaurant and Lodge in Belgachhi, located in Sundararaicha-7. According to the preliminary investigation by the police, the girls were made to stay in separate rooms on the second floor of the lodge and both of them were raped the whole night.

The parents requested the police to search for the girls who went to school but did not return home. Both of them came home on Saturday, the day after the disappearance. According to police, the incident came out when upon inquiry by police and parents, they said that they had been raped.
The parents of the victims filed a complaint at the local police office in Belbari on Sunday and based on the complaint, Timsina and Tamang were arrested. After both of them were arrested, it was revealed that there were two other people who helped in the incident. DSP Shrestha said that Benju Chaudhary and Padam Karki were also arrested on the basis of the statement of those arrested earlier. According to the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Timsina and Tamang met the girl, booked the hotel rooms, arranged food and provided birth control pills to the girls after the rape.
