Former President of Colombia arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Nov 30 : Former President of Colombia Andrés Pastrana Arango arrived in Kathmandu on Friday to participate in the Asia Pacific Summit 2018.

KATHMANDU, Nov 30 : Former President of Colombia Andrés Pastrana Arango arrived in Kathmandu on Friday to participate in the Asia Pacific Summit 2018.


Dignitaries from various countries are arriving today afternoon including former prime minister of India HD Deve Gowda, President of Nauru Baron Waqa, Speaker of Tonga Lord Fakafanua, according to  Universal Peace Federation, the organizer.


The formal opening ceremony of the two-day summit will take place at 9 am on Saturday.

This is set to be one of the biggest international events in Nepal, drawing over 500 distinguished guests from 45 various countries. 


While Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi have already arrived in Kathmandu, other VVIPs are expected to arrive today and tomorrow. Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel welcomed Hun Sen and Suu Kyi upon their arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport.
